Car transporters
A car transporter carries a car, a classic or a non-runner. We sell car transporters. These are the things to look at.

What to look at

How it loads
A tilt bed tips down so the car drives or winches on at a gentle angle. Ramp types are simpler, but a low car can catch.
Winch
A winch lets you load a car that will not start. Check that it runs and that the cable or strap is sound.
Size and weight
Compare your car’s weight with the trailer’s payload, and the car’s width and length with the bed. Leave room to fit the straps.
Tie-downs
Look for strong anchor points and wheel straps that fit your tyres. A car should be secured at all four corners.
Brakes and licence
A car transporter with a car on it is well over 750kg, so it must have working brakes, and the combined weight has to suit your licence and your car.
Before you buy any trailer, read the buying advice. It covers your car’s towing limit, your licence and the weights to check.
